SWINDON Town midfielder Ben Gladwin is reportedly undergoing a medical at Crawley Town with a view to signing for former boss, Scott Lindsey before the window shuts next week.
The Red Devils are said to have had an undisclosed offer accepted by Swindon and are trying to tie up a deal for the 30-year-old prior to Tuesday’s deadline.
With Gladwin’s Town contract expiring in the summer, this month marks the final opportunity to gain any money for their experienced vice-captain should he turn down the offer of a new deal.
Gladwin has played 23 times this season – five of which were as captain – before missing a handful of matches either side of Christmas due to injury.
The midfielder has enjoyed something of a renaissance under Lindsey, scoring one goal and providing four assists, and was in the conversation for the player of the season award at Town.
Having enjoyed four stints at Swindon throughout his career, Gladwin has racked up 152 appearances in total. The technically-gifted midfielder has also scored 21 goals and added 20 assists in that time too.
He may yet be joined at the People’s Pension Stadium by versatile Town player Ellis Iandolo prior to Tuesday’s deadline.
Adver Sport understands Lindsey remains interested in bringing the 25-year-old to Sussex this month, although that deal is still in the discussion stage as things stand.
