ALDERSHOT Town have signed Swindon Town midfielder Morgan Roberts on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old has only been at the County Ground since last summer, having signed for the Robins on deadline day in September of 2022.
The Welshman was Town’s fifth and final signing of what was a busy deadline day, after the entrance of Marcel Lavinier, Rushain Hepburn-Murphy, Conor Brann, and Luke Jephcott.
Roberts has seven appearances for Swindon so far this campaign, with the attacker having also enjoyed a brief but highly-productive start to the season with former club Banbury United in August.
The former Northampton Town player netted four times in six appearances prior to joining the Robins, scoring braces against Darlington and Hereford, respectively.
Morgan made 27 appearances last term for Banbury United and scored 10 times to help the Puritans to become champions of the Southern Football League Premier Division Central.
His new team Aldershot sit 14th in the National League, having won just a third of their matches this season so far.
Swindon hope that Roberts will gain some valuable experience during his loan stint and return to the club as a valuable asset to the current squad.
A statement from Swindon Town said: “We wish Morgan all the very best for the rest of the season, and the football club will be monitoring his progress closely over the coming months.”
Roberts was not included in the Shots' squad to face Dorking Wanderers on Saturday.
Aldershot won 2-0 at the EBB Stadium thanks to goals from Justin Amaluzor and Ryan Glover towards the end of each half.
Roberts' Aldershot debut may come this weekend as the fixture is repeated in the same location, but in the fifth round of the FA Trophy instead of in the National League.
