A DAY after the 54th anniversary of Swindon Town's League Cup win, Trust STFC provide an update on the statue that will immortalise the hero of the day - Don Rogers.
Absolute heartbreak at the end of Saturday’s game saw us walk away with zero points - and I, for one, took some time to recover from that result.
There was a lot of character shown from a number of the squad that day, and also from Jody Morris in the dugout. But once again, caught out late, and caught out through a number of errors.
We moved swiftly through to Tuesday night’s Walsall fixture, but perhaps the less said about that the better. Almost 1000 of you made the near-200-mile round trip from Swindon, for a cold Tuesday night kick-off, without too much to write home about. This season’s support on the road has been, once again, unbelievable. Keep up the top work, Town fans!
Those of us who may be more positively inclined will still be holding on to the fact we’re only six points from the play-offs. Make no mistake, it’s going to take a look of hard work and some luck for us to make that seventh spot, but it's still achievable as things stand.
Yesterday marked the 54th anniversary of one of Swindon’s most historic achievements, by beating Arsenal 3-1 in the League Cup at Wembley in front of nearly 100,000 people. Progress on the creation of a statue of 'Sir Don' is coming along nicely, and we’ll be updating members on the full progress next week.
The club announced 2023/24 season ticket prices last week, and while both the Trust and OSC pushed for a freeze on these figures, we understood the financial position the club is in and the detail shared behind the rise in operational costs ahead.
We appreciate the feedback we’ve received and that’s been taken onboard, as well as shared with the club. These are now on sale.
Next Wednesday sees the Trust host our AGM at The County Ground’s Legends Lounge from 7pm. A registration email has gone out to our membership, so please be sure to register for a ticket if you plan on attending.
We have a jam-packed agenda, focusing a lot on the joint-venture acquisition of The County Ground, which is due to complete at the end of this month. There will also be a chance for members to ask us questions, as well as senior leaders from the football club. If you don’t believe you’ve received an email from us, please get in touch.
For anyone making the trip to Spotland Stadium this weekend for the Rochdale fixture, safe travels and our fingers are firmly crossed for picking up three vital points on the road. COYR!
