ADVER Sport assesses the performances of the Swindon Town players following the club’s 4-2 defeat at home to Mansfield Town on Good Friday.
Sol Brynn: 6
It is rare that a goalkeeper concedes four times and is largely blameless for any of them, but Brynn really couldn’t have done much about any of Mansfield’s goals. Good positioning prevented a couple more for the Stags too.
Remeao Hutton: 5
After picking up his ninth assist of the season early on, Hutton was caught ball-watching for the Stags’ equaliser. He didn’t close Davis Keillor-Dunn down quickly enough for the second either. On a topsy-turvy day, Hutton defended well enough overall but struggled in a couple of key moments. Subbed.
Joe Tomlinson: 5
Tomlinson wasn’t involved much, and his only real contribution saw the defender divert past Brynn from Rhys Oates’ shot.
Tom Brewitt: 5
Brewitt picked up a silly booking early in the game. He has struggled with his positioning recently too. Booked.
Frazer Blake-Tracy: 6
Won a team-high five aerial duels and never seemed to panic when Mansfield poured forward. The vice-captain was exposed by a lack of defensive cover down the left side early on.
Jacob Wakeling: 5
Wakeling was asked to do a job he plainly isn’t suited for. As a result, he struggled to do it well enough to prevent the Stags creating plenty of joy. Subbed.
George McEachran: 7
Whoscored.com rated McEachran as Swindon’s best player on Friday. I’m not sure he played better than Hepburn-Murphy, but the midfielder was good in spells. The game passed him by at times, but the assist was superb and his set-piece delivery was much improved.
Saidou Khan: 5
Khan produced a shot on target but seemed to lack urgency and aggression in midfield – two attributes he builds his game around. Subbed.
Ronan Darcy: 5
Darcy’s lack of physicality was badly exposed in this game, chiefly when Hiram Boateng robbed him of possession to score Mansfield’s fourth. Subbed.
Charlie Austin: 5
Austin managed just 14 touches all game. He simply was not involved, arguably through no fault of his own. Subbed.
Rushian Hepburn-Murphy: 7
Hepburn-Murphy continued his decent form since regularly earning starts by netting his second header in a Swindon shirt. Whether it came off or not, the forward gave his all and was one of very few who could hold his head high after.
SUBSTITUTES
Marcel Lavinier: 6
His cameo was a bit hectic, but you can’t fault the commitment from Lavinier after coming on. He was eager to impress but just needed some more composure on the ball.
Tyrese Shade: 5
The highlight of Shade’s time on the pitch saw him beat his man and then fire a cross so far away from the box, it went out for a throw-in 15 yards from the half-way line.
Dylan Kadji: 5
He seemed a bit more mobile against Mansfield and eager to get forward, but there was nothing tangible to hang his hat on.
Jonny Williams: 7
Williams showed that extra bit of quality he has by scoring his ninth of the season. It was well-taken and could see him back in the starting XI on Monday.
Jake Cain: N/A
Came on too late to receive a rating.
