ADVER Sport assesses the performances of the Swindon Town players following the club’s 1-0 defeat away at Tranmere Rovers in League Two.
Sol Brynn: 6
Had very little to do throughout. There was a save from Turner-Cooke late on, and he did well to put off Hawkes when he raced through.
Marcel Lavinier: 4
Lavinier was untidy in his general play, and he was beaten far too easily by Hawkes for the goal. I’m not sure Hutton will be too worried. Subbed.
Tom Brewitt: 6
Aside from the avoidable error for the goal, Brewitt defended quite resolutely throughout and battled hard in an even contest with Kane Hemmings.
Frazer Blake-Tracy: 7
The stand-in captain was also partly at fault for the goal as he allowed the ball to bounce in the first place. But that was the only real criticism in an otherwise solid showing. Would have scored if not for a superb block.
Joe Tomlinson: 4
Tomlinson kept turning back and passing to Blake-Tracy instead of trying to bomb forward and use his better attributes. He also mis-kicked it countless times, including in a great chance during the first half. Not his best day.
George McEachran: 5
It’s difficult to stand out as a defensive midfielder, so the fact he had a quiet day probably just suggests Town saw more of the ball. Completed almost 90 per cent of his passes and unlucky to be shown an early card. Booked. Subbed.
Saidou Khan: 5
Khan struggled to involve himself in the game with Town opting to play long diagonal passes more often than usual. He was characteristically mobile, but struggled to have much of an effect. Subbed.
Jonny Williams: 6
In a game where Swindon struggled to create an awful lot, when they did, Williams was usually involved in some way. He’ll feel disappointed not to have scored from Hutton’s cross, though.
Tyrese Shade: 4
Shade was another to struggle in making an impact. Of his three shots, none were on target. Subbed.
Jacob Wakeling: 4
There were some positive moments involving his hold-up play on the ground, but in the air he could not compete. The youngster is not developing as fast as anyone would like, and as a result he was largely a passenger.
Rushian Hepburn-Murphy: 5
It was a much quieter game from Hepburn-Murphy than in recent outings. His only notable impact was a long-range shot on target. A handful of dribbles supplemented his afternoon. Subbed.
SUBSTITUTES
Ronan Darcy: 4
Darcy was on the field for 35 minutes and had just 12 touches of the ball. He was also booked. No sort of impact, whatsoever. Booked.
Remeao Hutton: 6
Hutton vastly improved the right side after coming on. There were a couple of dangerous runs in there as well as a super cross that Williams couldn’t turn in.
Jake Cain: 5
He was nice and bright in his short cameo, but Cain wasn’t able to generate a late chance for his side.
Luke Jephcott: 3
The Plymouth Argyle loanee touched the ball seven times in 25 minutes. Only one of those touches was a successful movement. Three of them were poor touches, one was a throw-in, one was blocking a Tranmere pass, and another was offside.
