SWINDON TOWN host play-off chasing AFC Barrow on Saturday, with the home side looking to turnaround their recent poor form sooner rather than later.

Town are coming off the back of four league defeats in a row after a disappointing Easter weekend, which saw defeats to Mansfield and Tranmere, leaving them 12th in the table.

With just six games remaining in the League Two campaign, head coach Jody Morris and his side will be desperately searching for a much-needed win to finish the season on a high.

Visitors Barrow are currently five points off the play-offs and will be hoping to close the gap on seventh-placed Salford following their trip to the County Ground.

Their form over last weekend’s busy schedule was erratic, demolishing Crawley 4-0 but also finding themselves on the end of a 3-0 defeat to Crewe.

Swindon were able to come out victorious in the reverse fixture between the two sides back in December, a 7th minute penalty from the now departed Louis Reed being the difference at the Furness Building Society Stadium.

SWINDON TEAM NEWS

In terms of fresh injuries for Swindon, defenders Joe Tomlinson and Frazer Blake-Tracey both could be doubts ahead of Saturday.

Morris revealed to the media on Thursday that Tomlinson had tweaked his groin earlier in the week, whilst Blake-Tracey has a slight problem with his toe but looks optimistic to be in contention on the weekend.

Other than that, Town remain without Ellis Iandolo, Mathieu Baudry, Reece Devine, Cian Harries, Ciaran Brennan, who are all sidelined with injuries.

WHAT MORRIS HAD TO SAY

“A lot of matches this season we’ve prepared for and watched their tapes just for them to totally change their approach against us.

“I think it’s expected when you’ve been in a bad run of form like ourselves and conceded goals like we have, it’s only natural for opposition to look at that and perhaps tweak their tactics.

“Barrow are in a good position and like most teams in this league, they can be fairly up and down, we just need to make sure we identify their dangers to the players.”

ADVER SPORT’S PREDICTION: SWINDON 1 – BARROW 3

Town are coming into this one following a miserable Easter weekend and a clear lack of confidence within the squad. Barrow, on the other hand, will be doing all they can for a late play-off push to end the season strong, and have the tools to punish Town’s recent poor form.
