SWINDON TOWN head coach Jody Morris has said he isn’t 100 per cent sure that Tomi Adeloye is showing the commitment required to play for Swindon Town, after he was asked about the forward's lack of game time.
The out-of-favour Town striker hasn't been able to get a look into the starting line-up since Morris took charge in January, aside from a few brief cameos off the bench.
The Swindon boss has also excluded Adeloye from the squad entirely for the last two matches, with on-loan striker Luke Jephcott instead being preferred.
The 27-year-old has started games in Town’s Wiltshire Premier Shield cup run, scoring a brace against Chippenham Town in the quarter-finals and a goal against Salisbury in the semi-finals.
But according to Morris, the club’s number nine has not convinced the West Londoner that he is fully dedicated to committing to the cause.
“I think there are moments when you need to be 100% sure that everybody is [giving their all], and there have probably been elements of that when I’ve not been 100 per cent sure he [Adeloye] has.
“I want people that want to play for this club, I want them to do everything they can to perform and when asked to do certain things, players need to be prepared to do it.
“Regardless of anything contractual or anything like that, my main focus is to pick the most suited team that I think can get us a positive result.
“At the moment, there are players ahead of Tomi [Adeloye] in doing that.”
The Town head coach also revealed that his side will almost certainly be without midfielder George McEachran against Bradford City tomorrow evening, who came off injured in their goalless draw with Barrow on Saturday.
“Unless he [McEachran] has a miraculous recovery overnight, we’re 99.9 per cent certain that he won’t be available for Bradford.
“At the moment it looks like there could be a strain in the muscle around the back of his knee, but we’re hoping it's nothing too serious.
“He’s been doing well recently and the supporters like him, so it’s certainly a big blow for us.”
Town host the Bantams in League Two action on Tuesday evening, kick-off is at 7:45pm.
