ONE of Swindon Town Football Club's top players has shocked fans with a radical hair change.

Charlie Austin returned to Swindon in the January transfer window after ending a period of time playing in Australia.

Since then, he has made a big impact on the pitch becoming club captain, scoring eight goals and becoming the club's second-top scorer for the season so far.

But now the football player is making an impact off of the pitch by teasing that he was going to dye his hair blue, and then, as revealed by his wife Bianca, actually following through with it.

On Thursday night, Austin posted on Twitter saying: "Time for a change."

Then on Friday morning Bianca Austin shared a photo of the end result, and said: "The joys of having an impulsive husband."

Fans have reacted to the bold move by both praising the new look, while others took the opportunity to make jokes.

One person on Twitter shared a photo of Marge Simpson, and another warned Austin not to 'Do a McKirdy' in reference to the former striker who also made waves with a hairstyle change.

Austin's future at the club is up in the air following recent comments from Jodie Morris, but fans will behoping it isn't as blue as his hair.
