FORMER Swindon Town goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux is reportedly set to sign for Premier League Burnley.
Vigouroux was recently named in the League Two Team of the Season as a result of his stellar campaign with champions, Leyton Orient but has allegedly turned down the offer of a new contract at E10 to explore other opportunities.
With a host of League One and Championship clubs said to be interested in the 29-year-old, recently-promoted Burnley emerged out of seemingly nowhere to lead the race.
Vincent Kompany's men won the Championship at a canter on 101 points - 10 points ahead of second placed Sheffield United and 21 points ahead of play-off winners, Luton Town.
Luke Edwards - northern football writer for the Daily Telegraph - stated that Turf Moor outfit are favourites to land Vigouroux's signature, marking a significant jump in standard for the Chilean.
Edwards said: "Hearing that Lawrence Vigouroux is set to leave Leyton Orient to sign for Premier League club Burnley.
"What a shame. Has been brilliant for the O’s but can’t blame him. Huge improvement in contract from a Premier League club and he’s 29 years old."

If the ex-Robins stopper is to move up to Turf Moor, he would likely become Burnley's third choice goalkeeper behind number one, Arijanet Muric.
Bailey Peacock-Farrell is currently at Burnley as back-up to Muric, but he is expected to move on this summer in search of regular first-team football.
Reacting to the claim, many fans were surprised but acknowledged Vigouroux could hardly turn down such an opportunity.
Having started his career in Tottenham Hotspur's academy and moved on to Liverpool's youth set-up, via a loan spell at Hyde United in non-league football, Vigouroux signed for League One Swindon in 2015.
One of the most memorable incidents from Vigouroux's time in Wiltshire arrived early on when he paid a £50 fine for being late to training in 5000 1p coins.
The loanee was temporarily sent back to Liverpool before apologising and returning to Swindon for the rest of the season.
The Chilean enjoyed four storied seasons at the County Ground prior to signing for Orient in 2019 - months before Town won League Two.
While at the east London outfit, Vigouroux won the O's Player of the Season award in three successive campaigns from 2020-21 and was a key member of Richie Wellens' side that romped to the fourth-tier title.
