SWINDON Town will be ball number 32 when the League Cup draw takes place live on Sky Sports on Thursday afternoon.
The draw will begin at around 2:30pm, with all 72 EFL clubs split into a north and south section for the first round.
All ties are set to be played in the week commencing August 7, and the 12 teams not competing in Europe next season - including Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea - await in round two.
The eight sides with European fixtures next term enter the domestic competition in the third round.
Town have failed to reach the second round of a competition they famously won back in 1969 since 2014, when a narrow success over Luton Town booked the Robins a clash with Brighton and Hove Albion.
Swindon fell 4-2 in the second round on home soil, a year after they reached the third round and lost 2-0 to Chelsea.
Swindon will discover the club's League Two fixtures at 9am on Thursday before the remaining spot in each EFL Trophy group will be filled at 11:30am.
