LEAGUE Two clubs have continued their early recruitment this summer, with many sides returning to pre-season this week.

Many contracts expire on Friday, therefore plenty more business is expected be done in the next couple of weeks.

But looking back on the past seven days, several fourth-tier sides have completed key deals as they look to achieve their goals in 2023/24.

Tranmere Rovers have signed ex-Swindon Town striker Luke Norris on a one-year contract after the 30-year-old helped Stevenage out of the division last season.

Norris - who scored 20 goals in 84 appearances for the Robins between 2016 and 2018 - was not offered a new deal by Steve Evans' men and has chosen to remain in League Two with Ian Dawes' Super White Army.

The striker has played for Northampton Town, Colchester United, and Gillingham elsewhere in his career.

Defender Chris Hussey has agreed a one-year deal with Walsall after leaving Stockport County this summer.

The former Town loanee was a part of the Hatters side which lost to Carlisle United in the League Two play-off final last month and will officially join the Saddlers on July 1 when his Stockport contract expires.

Hussey featured 20 times for Swindon in the 2017/18 campaign, providing six assists and scoring a superb goal against Luton Town in a 3-0 victory.

The 34-year-old is hunting his sixth promotion as a player after success with AFC Wimbledon, Burton Albion, Bury, and Cheltenham Town.

A pair of players who were tipped as potential options for Town by Adver Sport have moved to other clubs in the past few days.

Five goalkeeper signings Swindon Town could make this summer.

Defenders the Robins could bring in ahead of 23/24 season.

Goalkeeper Alex Cairns has signed a two-year contract with Salford City after enjoying a loan spell there last season.

The 30-year-old was released by Fleetwood Town following 240 appearances for the Cod Army and signs for an Ammies side which he helped into the play-offs last term.

Meanwhile, centre-back Priestly Farquharson has joined Hussey at Walsall on a two-year deal.

Farquharson was offered a new contract at Rodney Parade but turned that down in order to sign for Matt Sadler's men.

The 26-year-old made 65 appearances across two-and-a-half years in south Wales and scored five times.

Elsewhere in the division, Barrow have signed former Port Vale striker Jamie Proctor on a one-year contract, Bradford City have landed 34-year-old former Fulham and Exeter City midfielder Kevin McDonald on a two-year deal, and Morecambe have brought 32-year-old Chris Stokes to the club on a one-year deal after he left Kilmarnock.

Bradford continued their early recruitment by signing ex-Harrogate Town midfielder Alex Pattison on a three-year contract.
