FORMER Swindon Town loanee Kaine Kesler-Hayden will spend the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Championship side, Plymouth Argyle.
The Pilgrims have agreed a season-long deal for the defender - who joins from Aston Villa - following their promotion from League One.
Kesler-Hayden spent the first half of last season on loan at Huddersfield Town where he played 14 times and scored one goal - the winner in a 2-1 success against Preston North End on Boxing Day.
Prior to that, the 20-year-old finished the 2021/22 season in League One with Milton Keynes Dons after being recalled from a successful stint with Swindon.
Kesler-Hayden only featured 21 times for the Robins but left a lasting impression courtesy of an FA Cup winner against Walsall and a sparkling display in the third round at home to Manchester City.
That performance against Pep Guardiola's men, plus a series of eye-catching games prior, saw Kesler-Hayden recalled by parent club Villa and sent back out to League One in order to fast-track his development.
His only senior appearance for Unai Emery's side arrived in January 2021, when a Covid outbreak at Villa forced the midlands side to play their youth team in an FA Cup clash with Liverpool.
"He has excellent pedigree, and great experience for his young age, including in the Championship," said Argyle manager Steven Schumacher.
"He will give us energy and versatility. I am really looking forward to working with him."
Meanwhile, another of Town's 21/22 side has switched clubs recently, with centre-back Romoney Crichlow leaving Huddersfield for League One Peterborough United.
Crichlow began the play-off campaign with Swindon and made 24 appearances, scoring two goals and laying on another, before being recalled by the Terriers and sent to Plymouth.
The 24-year-old only featured three times for Argyle over the second half of the season, later heading out on loan to Bradford City - where he would spend the entire 22/23 campaign.
Although there were suggestions Crichlow would return to Valley Parade once his Huddersfield contract expired this summer, the defender opted to sign a two-year contract with Darren Ferguson's men.
Speaking to Peterborough's media team, Crichlow said: "When I met the manager, he did a very good presentation about how I would fit in here and it really was an easy decision after that.
"I really enjoyed my loan at Bradford last season, I managed to play a lot of games and we obviously reached the play-offs. For me now, it is about the next stage."
