FORMER Swindon Town shot stopper Sol Brynn is set to join Leyton Orient on a season long loan, according to reports.
The 22-year-old had received interested from several clubs following his impressive loan spell at Town last season, but it appears the Middleborough goalkeeper has opted for a link up with former Swindon boss Richie Wellens.
Brynn played every game in Swindon’s 2022/23 League Two campaign and kept 13 clean sheets in the process, which resulted in him being named the club’s Player of the Year.
Prior to his spell at the County Ground, he also had stints at Darlington and Queen of the South.
Many Town supporters hoped that the talented keeper would have stayed in Wiltshire following his successful season and his Boro contract coming to an end, but a two-year contract extension back in May for his parent club put an end to any speculation.
Orient had been tasked with finding a replacement for recently departed and fellow ex-Town player Lawrence Vigouroux, who left for Championship winners Burnley last month.

It seems Wellens didn’t take too long to get their new number one through the door, as Football Insider revealed that a deal between the O’s and Boro has been agreed, which will give Brynn a deserved opportunity in the third tier.
The young goalkeeper is yet to make an appearance at the Teeside outfit since joining their academy, but one would think that another successful loan spell would certainly give head coach Michael Carrick something to think about.
