SWINDON Supermarine have signed Cheltenham Town midfielder, Brandon Liggett on a season-long loan.
The 17-year-old central midfielder is yet to make a senior appearance for Cheltenham but has featured regularly in the club's Under-18s side - including twice in the 21/22 FA Youth Cup campaign.
Liggett was also an unused substitute last term during Cheltenham's EFL Trophy clash at home to West Ham United U21s.
Having spent some time with Cinderford Town in Southern League Division One South in 22/23, Liggett's Marine move with mark just his second senior move away from Cheltenham.
The midfielder made his Marine debut during Saturday's 2-1 pre-season defeat at home to Weymouth, where George Dowling's goal on the stroke of half-time was not enough to avoid a fourth defeat in five friendly matches so far.
Meanwhile, Marine also announced the club have re-signed goalkeeper, Charlie Searle on a one-year contract.
The 37-year-old stopper signed on an emergency loan deal last April and went on to play six Southern League Premier South games for Lee Spalding's men as they hunted a play-off place.
That quest was not successful as the Spitfires finished sixth, but Searle produced a number of high-quality performances to endear himself to the Marine faithful.
Searle will compete alongside Bristol City loanee, Mac Boyd for the number one jersey after the Exeter-based gloveman initially signed until Christmas.
Boyd - who spent time on loan at Melksham Town last season in Southern League Division One South and was a stand-out member of Mark Collier's side - made his Marine debut in the 6-0 reverse against Cheltenham Town earlier this month.
Elsewhere, versatile player Tom Sharpe has extended his time with Marine for another season.
The former West Bromwich Albion youngster was a key cog in Supermarine's run to sixth last term with goals and assists - an attribute which will once again be vital next term.
