Marcel Lavinier has departed Swindon Town to join Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old defender will link up with David Horseman’s squad on a permanent deal after spending just one season with Town.
Signed from Tottenham Hotspur by Scott Lindsey in September of last year, Lavinier became the club’s 15th acquisition of a busy summer transfer window.

There was a lot of hope amongst the Town fans that the move would help the club given Lavinier’s previous stints for Spurs and fellow Premier League side Chelsea.
The London-born defender had a mixed debut season, making 23 EFL League Two appearances, scoring two goals and making one assist.
Under the management of both Lindsey and his successor Jody Morris, Lavinier played at both left-back as well as right-back.
Of these games, his thunderous strike in Town’s 2-1 victory over Northampton Town in December will live long in the memory of the Swindon faithful.
Both of Lavinier’s goals for the club were exquisite though, with the defender’s volley versus Grimsby Town in January being just as pleasing on the eye.
He now moves to Nailworth to join Forest Green, who suffered relegation in their maiden League One season.
A spokesperson for Swindon Town said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Marcel for all his efforts during his time with us and wish him all the very best for the future.”
On a busy day for both clubs in terms of transfers, Udoka Godwin-Malife has made the reverse switch and joined Michael Flynn’s side.
Lavinier and his new club return to the fourth tier with a home match against Salford City to begin the campaign.
Swindon will face up former manager Ben Garner and his Colchester United side in their opening game of the season.
Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 3pm along with the rest of the League Two fixtures.
