Gary Horgan was aggrieved by decisions that went against his Chippenham Town side during their 4-1 home defeat against Dartford.
Following a positive start from the Bluebirds, the visitors earned a penalty after 20 minutes as Luke Coulson whipped in a free-kick and Joash Nembhard went down in the middle after what looked like minimal contact from Aaron Amadi-Holloway. Harvey Bradbury stepped up and rolled his penalty up the middle and into the net.
Three minutes later, Eddie Jones tripped up Moussa Diarra on the edge of the area and the referee pointed to the spot once again. This time Bradbury drilled his penalty low into the bottom corner.
Brandon Barzey then made it three before the break after he chased down Will Henry and blocked his attempted clearance. Barzey continued his run to latch onto the loose ball and tapped into the empty net from close range.
After 52 minutes Chippenham got a goal back as Maxwell Statham’s clearance rebounded off his chest and towards Owen Windsor, who headed home from inside the six-yard box.
Dartford ended all hopes of a Chippenham comeback 13 minutes from time as a long ball from Mitchell Beeney was headed onto Josh Johnson. He drove through midfield and powered a shot into the top corner.
Horgan said he was not convinced by either of the penalty decisions from the referee and that completely swung the game away from the Bluebirds.
He said: “It was a disappointing one because we started well in the first 20 minutes, we were certainly on top, and it looked like it would be a good afternoon for us.
“Then we concede two penalties in the space of five minutes, the second one definitely isn’t a penalty because it is outside the box and the first one you could argue is just a coming together.
“I don’t want to lay any blame on the referee for those, but I was obviously disappointed with that.
“We were in the ascendancy for the first 20 minutes, and we were really bright, playing some nice football and had a couple of chances.
“Dartford got in our box three times in the first half and scored two penalties from it.
“We have had a few of those in the last few weeks, with three draws that really should have been wins as we were up in all of those games.”
