HAVE you ever watched the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker and The Rock and dreamed of doing what they do? Well, now you can as a new wrestling school has opened in Swindon.
Owner of British Kingdom Pro Wrestling, Swindon-based former professional wrestler David Sharp, a man with years of experience in the ring and in training, has set up Swindon’s only wrestling school to help aspiring wrestlers achieve their goals and live their dreams.
The wrestling dojo will be operating out of a unit in BizSpace on the Cheney Manor Industrial Estate.
"The one thing all of the stars you see on your screen have in common is that their journey began at a wrestling school," David said.
David was the man behind wrestling company 4FW who for years served Swindon with first-class wrestling events and training in the town before the pandemic.
He is aiming to continue and build on the legacy and the heritage of 4FW under the new banner of British Kingdom Pro Wrestling.
There, students are trained by him but also get to learn from some of the best wrestlers in the area.
"You can literally go from having watched main event wrestling stars like Saime Sahin and Tiger Ali at shows across the southwest to being trained by them," he said.
The school has been working hard to form partnerships with major wrestling companies in Japan and Mexico which will see wrestlers from across the globe visit to help teach, and students will even potentially get to travel to these places to gain more experience.
"There will also be opportunities closer to home for aspiring wrestlers as British Kingdom Pro Wrestling already has a plethora of shows in the calendar for the year ahead in towns and cities across the southwest, including Swindon, Bristol, Gloucester and Oxford.
"One of the stand-out shows Battle Kingdom happening on January the 13th at the Deanery Theatre in Swindon where the star of Dragon Gate, Dragon Kid will be squaring off in the main event against Tiger Ali."
