For the first time in Football Manager, you can be asked questions by the Swindon Advertiser when you take charge of Swindon Town this year.

Football Manager 24 is currently in its early access phase, ahead of its global release on November 6, but those players who purchased the game early may have noticed a new name when they began playing as Swindon.

The management simulation allows players to emulate the responsibilities of a real-life manager, including signing players, deciding on tactics, and speaking to the press before and after games.

Previously, when conducting press conferences as Town boss, you would have your decisions scrutinised by BBC Wiltshire and the Football League Paper, but there will now be a third journalist in attendance holding you accountable in the game.

The Swindon Advertiser is now part of the game for the first time and will interview you if you are the manager of Swindon Town.

Despite having the real-life newspaper in the game, the employees are not real, so instead of speaking with the "hugely negative" true correspondent, you get a "friendly and good-humoured" imposter.

So, before you palm all of your media responsibilities off to your assistant manager after 20 minutes of playing, you can look out for a new presence in the media room.
