There were ten personal best times for Swindon Harriers athletes as they dazzled at the Brewer Games in Cheltenham.
In the mixed weather on Bank Holiday Monday, Swindon Harriers' middle-distance runners descended on Cheltenham to compete in the Brewer Games and they were in fine form as ten different athletes notched a personal best on the course.
Freya McMeeking broke her own personal best time for the second time this season to climb up to joint-first place in the Wiltshire 800 metres rankings, level with fellow Harriers runner Elsie Scrase.
McMeeking set a terrific time of 2:27.94 to win the C race at Prince of Wales Stadium and match the time her clubmate had set at Basingstoke a few weeks ago as the two tussle at the top of the Wiltshire rankings.
But there were plenty of other individual bars tumbling as Ellie Charlesworth broke her own 800-metre record by six seconds as she came home in 2:32.65.
In only her second 3000-metre race, youngster Molly Lyne eclipsed her personal best by over 40 seconds with 11:45.10, the fastest time in the club at that distance so far this season.
Olly Hughes was also enjoying a fantastic day as his prior best 1500-metre time came down by eight seconds as he won the D race, with Dylan Necrews also getting under five minutes for the first time as he set a new personal best time of 4:58.44.
In the younger age groups, Hamish Murray and Max Necrews both had personal bests in the under-13 800 metres, as did Williams Chalmers and Finley Kulinski in the 300 metres, finishing in 42:06 and 42:96 respectively.
Al Virgilio notched up a season’s best of 53:14 for third in the A 400-metre race while Ben Charlesworth ran a personal best with 59:37 in the B race.
