Oxford United head coach Des Buckingham was spotted chanting about Swindon Town during the club’s promotion celebrations.
The U’s defeated Bolton Wanderers in the League One playoff final at Wembley on Saturday to see them promoted to the Championship, with the twin brother of former Swindon loanee Jacob Murphy, Josh Murphy, getting both of the goals.
There were large celebrations in the middle of Oxford on Monday, as players and fans congregated to share their joy at having been promoted to the second tier, but they were sure not to forget their local rivals during the open-top bus celebrations.
Haha! I miss this sort of stuff. https://t.co/JfJfV3W0h8

Buckingham, who was born in Oxford, aimed a jibe at their neighbours as he was videoed by fans performing an X-rated chant about Swindon as the bus went through the middle of the city.
Along with midfielder Cameron Brannagan, the 39-year-old led the chant to the tune of ‘London Bridge is falling down’, with Swindon Town in the role of the bridge, before finishing with “f*** off, Swindon.”
Oxford are back in the second tier for the first time since being relegated in 1999, alongside Bristol City and Bury, with the club experiencing financial turmoil that helped contribute to their relegation to Division Two.
