Swindon Town Football Club says it has learned from issues with long bar queues and the variety of food on offer at its bank holiday weekend concerts.

Thousands of people attended the County Ground on Saturday and Sunday to see Chris Moyles' 90s Hangover and the Could Be Real Tribute Festival, which were generally received positively.

The club has addressed the issues raised by concertgoers, with commercial manager James Watts saying that they have learned from what happened.

He said: “For the first event in 10 years at the County Ground this was a huge success, we know there are issues around food and drink, but we will rectify these moving forward and bring Swindon an even bigger event in 2025.”

On Saturday, attendees reported long queues for a drink at the bar, with claims on social media and reviews that wait times exceeded an hour and a half, meaning people missed some of the acts.

One person said: "Waited for an hour for a couple of drinks, then a couple of hours another time. All queues were ridiculously long."

Another added: "Brilliant day. Shame about queuing for 45-50 minutes to get a drink which was ridiculous. Maybe more staff and drinks tools next time."

The club says it was overwhelmed with the number of people attending the bars in the first three hours but this was swiftly rectified for the Sunday, which did not see similar issues.

James added there would be extra bars and more staff on duty next year to further mitigate this.

There were also complaints about the variety of food on offer as only the club's usual matchday food kiosks were available, offering sausage rolls, pasties and hot dogs.

One person wrote on social media: "The advertised selection of food was just three items, of which ran out and you then had to wait 30 minutes to be cooked."

James said issues with food were caused by the club having to run its kiosks like it would on a matchday, but next year applications will be made for several external vendors to be on site.

Reviews on ticket-selling platform Skiddle gave Chris Moyles' 90s Hangover an average of 3.5 out of five, largely because of the bar queue issue, and the Could Be Real Tribute Festival an average of 4 out of 5.
