Two young Swindon footballers recently returned from playing football in Barcelona.
The youngsters, from Lawn Manor Academy, competed for Swindon Town Football Club Community Foundation in youth tournaments.
Year 7 student Ava was part of the Under 12s team in the Barcelona Girls Cup and finished in third place.
Ava, who's been playing football since the age of 3, said: "The tournament was really good and we played other teams from London and from across Spain too.
"The matches were difficult but I’d definitely like to do it again."
Year 9 pupil Dinaank, an Under 14s player, competed in the Barcelona Cup.
Sharing his experience, Dinaank, who aspires to become a professional footballer, said: "My team got through to the group finals but then we got knocked out and came in second place.
"It was great and it was different playing in Barcelona compared to playing in Swindon."
Assistant headteacher at Lawn Manor Academy, Marek Koza, said: "We're keen to encourage our pupils to make the most of being outside and keeping active.
"The playing field is often filled with football matches and pupils are able to stay active as well as develop their skills and enjoy playing as part of a team."
