Swindon Town midfielder Ricky Aguiar has completed his switch to National League outfit York City for an undisclosed fee.
Aguiar was Swindon's longest-serving player, having spent three seasons with the club after arriving from Worthing in 2021, but now departs to join York.
The midfielder will link up with his former Worthing manager Adam Hinshelwood at The York Community Stadium.
The 23-year-old made 41 appearances during his time with Town, scoring a memorable brace during a 5-0 victory over Michael Flynn's Walsall during Town's run to the playoffs under Ben Garner in 2021/22.
However, Aguiar struggled to kick on from a promising first season at The County Ground, leading to a loan spell at Torquay United in the National League during 2022/23 and then a very promising spell back at Worthing in the first half of last season, but failed to force his way into the first team after being recalled in January.
Aguiar was not included in the squad for Mark Kennedy's first two pre-season friendlies against Swindon Supermarine and Hungerford Town and now has departed Wiltshire to join the National League outfit who will be looking to improve on a 20th place finish in the fifth tier from last term.
