Dear Reader, with the league season one week away, this felt like a good juncture to discuss the plans for the coming season and some of the content that you can expect.

All of the usual matchday and day-to-day news coverage will remain free and as comprehensive as it always has been, but there should be plenty more subscriber-only stories coming that should make it an experience worth paying for.

Coming first for this will be next week when there will be what I have been referring to as “The Beast”, or more accurately, the most comprehensive League Two preview that you will find anywhere. Being released in three parts, there will be contributions from reporters, podcasters, and even club employees from the 23 other teams to help understand how everyone is approaching this season. This has been a labour of love and also quite a lot of stress over the last few weeks bringing it together and it should be all you need to get ready for the season.

Having settled into the role over the course of last season, the main change for this season is that I am seeking out other voices on the club. I am currently in the process of finalising a number of new columns to go along with everyone’s favourite name for a column “Looking Back-lam” to help give more perspectives and more stories about the past, present, and future of this great club.

We will also be returning to the deep dives this season. These are my personal favourite stories to write and I hope yours to read. Things like “Misun Person’s Report”, “Inside the Beamish Line”, and “Pre-season with Paolo” were so much fun to speak with people about and I have my eyes set on the next couple of stories that I want to pursue. They are going to be well worth the extensive amount of time it takes to write them and definitely worth yours reading them.

Also, for all of you football nerds, I will continue with the tactics writing once the season gets going. With a new head coach to get to know there will be plenty to look at to understand this team and their strengths and weaknesses.

These are the big plans for this season to keep you entertained but feel free to email me or comment about anything else you would want to see and I can try and make it happen.

Let’s hope this is a season to remember.
