Sky Sports+ will change a lot of what football feels like for fans across the EFL this season, which Swindon Town will experience at Chesterfield on the opening day.

In April, the EFL announced a new record-breaking TV deal with Sky that looks set to change things for supporters across the three leagues.

The new TV deal agreed with Sky in April has seen a value increase of more than 60 per cent and more than 1,000 games being broadcast across the three leagues next season.

Sky Sports+ has effectively replaced iFollow in the United Kingdom, where matches were previously available when not kicking off at 3 pm on Saturday and it will mean that alternative kick-off times will become familiar to fans of lower league clubs.

The new deal means that every club will appear at least 20 times on Sky Sports and their new streaming service Sky Sports+ next season, although this does include all Carabao Cup, midweek, and Bristol Street Motors Trophy matches being shown live. Plus all opening day and final day matches, Bank Holiday games, and fixtures during international breaks.

In reality, this will mean that League Two clubs will have a minimum of three matches other than those covered by the above moved across the course of the season to accommodate the broadcasting.

Due to the 3 pm blackout, to achieve this goal, kick-off times will have to move around, as Swindon have already found as they will help to christen the new service by playing Chesterfield on Friday night, as well as having five other games during the first half of the season already being announced as moving from their original Saturday 3 pm slot.

There will be ten live matches shown each weekend, five from the Championship and five from Leagues One and Two, with games being able to move to Friday night, Sunday afternoon, and also 12.30 pm on a Saturday, plus additional selected matches on a Monday or Thursday.

These games will be shown across Sky Sports Football and the new Sky Sports+, which is a free addition to any Sky subscription but can also be accessed via Now TV so those without Sky can still watch the games.

Because of the amount of disruption that will be caused by this, games being selected for coverage prior to the FA Cup Third Round have already been announced and after that will also be announced well in advance.
