Swindon Town have completed the signing of young defender Billy Kirkman on a permanent deal following a successful trial.
Kirkman has been with Swindon for the start of pre-season as they took a look at the Welshman during friendly matches against Swindon Supermarine and Hungerford Town.
The 20-year-old has made more than 40 appearances in the Welsh topflight with both The New Saints and Aberystwyth, winning the title as part of the squad with TNS in 2022/23.
The full-back has greatly impressed Mark Kennedy and Swindon since arriving on trial with his ability as a youngster and is seen as an exciting young talent that can be developed.
Whilst naturally a left-back, Kirkman can play more advanced up the left flank and has also been used in both friendly matches as a left-sided centre-back.
The defender comes in to continue the development that has been seen over the summer and in recent seasons, and also provide additional cover for Town in wide areas behind Rosaire Longelo, Billy King, Tunmise Sobowale, Joel McGregor, and Tariq Uwakwe.
