Swindon Town are reportedly interested in making a move for Coventry City midfielder Ryan Howley to bolster their options in the middle of the park.

As Swindon continue to look to add to their squad, with a midfielder remaining high on the priorities list for Jamie Russell in the final two-and-a-half weeks of the summer transfer window.

Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider has said that they are in talks over a loan move for Howley from Coventry to help add to the current group of midfield players.

The Adver is aware of the interest in the player but does not believe any deal to be at an advanced stage where it would be likely to happen soon.

The 20-year-old Welsh youth international has made eight senior appearances for Coventry, making his debut against Northampton Town in the Carabao Cup in August 2021 before getting a first Championship run out against Nottingham Forest the following April.

Howley won the Championship Apprentice of the Season award for the 2021/22 campaign and made another five appearances the following year before spending the last campaign on loan at Dundee FC in the Scottish Premiership.

Despite being born in Nuneaton, the midfield has represented Wales at under-19 and under-21 level.
