Swindon Town are waiting on movement from other clubs to continue their work in the transfer market this summer.

In yet another busy summer at the Nigel Eady County Ground, Swindon have seen 12 players arrive at the club this summer but the business is far from done with Town known to be looking to add another goalkeeper, midfielder, and striker before the end of the month.

One known target has been Kabongo Tshimanga, although the two clubs remain apart on what percentage of his wages Swindon should be taking on and Mark Kennedy has said that he is not the only striker that Town are looking at.

Ahead of the first home game of the season against Walsall on Saturday, Kennedy was asked about the state of play with transfers.

He said: “We are working our socks off, it is frustrating but all I can say is that we can’t do any more.

“We have spoken to other clubs about what we are trying to do and it is in their hands, unfortunately, I can’t make somebody give us their player.

“We have done all of our work, basically, we have spoken to clubs and made our feelings known and however frustrated you are, I am ten times more frustrated. That is a fact.

“We have spoken to clubs and put our finances forward in terms of what we can pay and what we would like to pay and I don’t mean we have offered fees for people but there are salaries involved and loan salaries, whether it is a permanent or a loan.

“We have been very aggressive and competitive in what we have tried to do.”

Coventry City’s Ryan Howley is one player that The Adver are aware of interest in to add another option in midfield with Saidou Khan now openly angling for a move away from Swindon before the end of the window but Kennedy would not divulge anything about that situation.

He said: “With players, we have to be respectful to other clubs and to the player, Tshimanga was a brutally honest one because it was the worst kept secret in the world.

“We have a number of options when we speak to players, be that a striker, a right wing-back, or a centre-half.

“What I would say is that our targets are good players and if they come in then they will be a real asset to us.”
