Former Swindon Town midfielder Liam Kinsella and trialist Max Harris have been made available for transfer by Cheltenham Town.

Kinsella, who was allowed to leave Swindon on a free in January for family reasons, seems to be looking for a new club for the third time in a year after he was left out of the Cheltenham Town squad for their defeat at Grimsby Town.

Ex-Town boss Michael Flynn had started Kinsella, who he brought to Swindon after working with him at Walsall, in the opening game of the season against Newport County before he was an unused substitute against Plymouth Argyle in the Carabao Cup.

But, despite admitting that the midfielder was fully fit, he was not included in the squad for the game against Grimsby and Flynn said he is available for transfer.

Speaking to Gloucestershire Live after the game, he said: “[Why were Kinsella and Tom Bradbury not in the squad?] They just weren’t picked to be in the squad. Both were fully available.

“[Have players been told they don’t have futures?] Yes.

“People who have been made available have been told and it hasn’t changed from when I came in.

“I haven’t heard of any [serious interest in those players] but you never know when it gets closer to the end of the window.

“There have been no falling outs or anything, Liam Kinsella this is my third club with him and he is a fantastic lad and professional.

“There has been no falling out, it is just that if someone comes in for them they will be allowed to leave the football club and that happens everywhere. I got told it loads of times as a player.”

The 28-year-old decided to leave Swindon for Cheltenham in January because his fiancé was pregnant and the offer enabled him to play closer to his home in Birmingham but it now seems that he might have to be on the move again.

Kinsella is one of three Flynn is hoping to move on before the deadline next Friday, with Bradbury and also Harris, who spent time on trial at Swindon earlier this summer and has since been training with Bristol Rovers.

Town are still searching for another goalkeeper to provide competition to Jack Bycroft but seem to have moved on from Harris as a possibility and Gloucestershire Live’s Jon Palmer said last week that he is expecting the 24-year-old to make a move to National League South.
