Several complaints were made about the state of the Nigel Eady County Ground as Swindon Town returned to home action against Walsall.

Whilst many fans were left disappointed by a sub-par showing by the team on the pitch against Walsall, there were also a few frustrations with off-the-pitch matters around the ground, with many taking to social media to display their concerns.

Some fans were left disappointed at the state of the seats around the ground at the first home match of the season, with many still being dirty.

Josh Barclay was one to say that he was disappointed with the state of where he sits and posted on X that his seats in the Alan McLoughlin Town End had cobwebs and bird poo on them, with others responding that they had seen similar at their own seats.

The Adver contacted the club about this issue and were told that whilst routine cleaning of the stands and seats had been done over the summer, they were disappointed by the state of some seats around the ground for the opening game and apologise for the situation.

Having been made aware of the issue they plan to rectify it right away and it will be sorted in time for the next home game against Notts County on August 31.

The game also saw the newly refurbished Legends Lounge being unveiled for the first time, and whilst the majority on social media said that they liked the look of the refurbishment, it was met with some complaints from supporters about the décor looking unfinished, with the walls around the new tables, TVs, and bar remaining plain white.

Seaside Reds said on X: “Hopefully it will look much, much better when it is finished. Currently, it looks cold, echoey and bland. Also, it looks like they've managed to get less seating in there, somehow.”

The Adver was told that whilst they were pleased to have gotten the bulk of the refurbishment done in time for the first game, there was still work to be done, particularly with regards to the toilets before the project was completely finished.

Town also plan to add in more memorabilia around the space to add more life to the walls of the new Legends Lounge to make it feel like a more exciting space, and that is also planned to be ready in time for the next home game against Notts County.
