Grant Hall said that Swindon Town will need to improve their decision making in the final third after dropping points on the road at Crewe Alexandra.
Swindon have scored just one goal in their opening three League Two matches and are yet to amass one xG cumulatively across those games following a 0-0 draw at the Mornflake Stadium.
Hall said that despite some good spells during the game at Crewe, Town did not make the most of their positions in the attacking third of the pitch.
He said: "I came away from that slightly frustrated myself, I think as a team that game was there for us today, we had a few chances that we should have put away.
"I thought we were the better side in the first half and they didn't have many chances that I can remember, I don't think they had a shot on target in the whole game.
"We both had heavy defeats last week so it was never going to be an open game, so we take a point away from home.
"[Was there any anxiety?] Possibly. We lacked a bit of bravery and calmness in the final third today.
"I think we have to be better on the ball at times, it was a little bit of a basketball game at times and we couldn't get a foothold in the second half.
"In the first half we got into good areas and we just didn't make the most of it, the decision-making has got to be better at times, at this level it is about physicality but you have more time on the ball than you think."
Despite a goal-shy start to the season, Hall was pleased for the defence to get the first clean sheet under their belts after the difficulties last week.
He said: "That is a positive. As defenders, you want to keep clean sheets and especially after last week, we hold our hands up, we were very disappointing last week.
"To concede four goals in a game is unacceptable, whether it is home or away, so we needed to bounce back from that.
"I thought we defended well today, they had very little going forward, to be honest, and it did look like it was going to be a 0-0 game.
"We are still getting to know each other and that takes time to get into a rhythm and to keep a clean sheet is a positive."
