A Swindon Town Football Club player has reportedly secured a deal to transfer to another team.

Journalist Foday Manneh claims that Saidou Khan is set to join English League 2 side Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan from the Robins.

The midfielder is expected to undergo his medical on Thursday before the deal is officially announced on Friday.

If confirmed by Swindon Town, this would bring a long-running transfer saga to a close, as Khan had previously made it clear that he saw his future at another club but struggled to find a way out of his current one.

He was not involved in the first three games of Swindon's season but Town were happy to accommodate his wishes and sought to find a suitable separation.

Other clubs had expressed interest in recruiting Khan earlier in the summer but this did not lead to anything official.

The deal with Tranmere Rovers has reportedly been secured just before the transfer window closes.

Head coach Mark Kennedy previously told the Adver: "He wants to leave, we are happy for him to leave and we have come to a mutual agreement.

"I can’t, and I never would, force someone to go somewhere, they have to be happy.

“We have had people ring up and [Khan and his agent] have said no.”
