Sean McGurk and Ryan Delaney could be in line for a return to Swindon Town action against Exeter City in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

As Swindon begin their campaign in the competition, they could be boosted by the return of the injured duo after they missed the bulk of pre-season with their respective injuries back into contention for selection.

Delaney has been continuing his rehabilitation from the knee injury that ended his season in February with Newport County last term, and because of this he has not been able to feature since his summer arrival as he looks to return to full fitness.

McGurk has been dealing with a few issues across the summer since starting against Swindon Supermarine in the first friendly but in none of the games since due to a hip flexor issue and then what was discovered to be irritable scar tissue.

But, according to Mark Kennedy, both are back fit having returned to training and could be involved at St James Park, although, as ever, he was loathe to give any suggestion to what his team might be.

He said: “Both are fit. I am just not going to tell you [if they will be involved].”
