Clem Morfuni and Anthony Hall said what the biggest lessons they have learned are following a tumultuous year at Swindon Town.
Swindon have endured a tempestuous 12 months both on and off the pitch as they recorded their lowest league finish since the four-tier structure was introduced, received two EFL charges, and had an open letter from the Supporters Trust stating that they had lost faith in the club’s leadership.
The Adver got the chance to sit down with Morfuni and Hall last week and asked what the biggest lessons that they had learned in running the club during that time.

Morfuni said: “What did I learn from last season? Not to do what I did last season in regards to the football.
“Putting more investment onto the pitch is so important, the recruitment strategy was a change, we have got more permanent players, and we have got some men out there.
“That was one lesson I learned and I think that if we get promoted then the club has a different feel.
“With running the back of house stuff, we are making sure that all of the processes and procedures are there, the budgets in each department are right, making sure we talk to the staff, and we are getting a marketing person in.
“We need to market ourselves a lot better, I don’t like doing interviews and its not about me it needs to be about the club, no one is bigger than the club.
“The club is the most important thing and we push forward for the club to go higher and clean up the mess that we have had.”
Hall has been Swindon’s CEO since September 15 last year and was also asked what lessons he had learned during almost a year at the helm of the club.
He said: “I have learned a lot in a year, understanding what is going on and the challenges we face as a business has been an eye-opener.
“As Clem has spoken about, it is the systems and processes that we continue to put in place, we are not perfect yet, there is a lot of work still to be done, I don’t want anyone to underestimate the work we still have to do as a team.
“There is a lot to do, I have learned a lot, I have enjoyed it, it has been tough, but I enjoy it as it is a great role at a fantastic club that I feel we can take forward.”
