Swindon Town have released a statement explaining the delay in replacing the sign over the club shop.
This season, Town changed kit suppliers from Puma to Pro:Direct, with the club returning to Adidas kits as part of the deal for the first time since the 2014/15 campaign.
This meant that the club had to change the sign over the club shop, which had Puma branding on it, although whilst the original sign had been removed, there had been a delay over its replacement.
When speaking to Clem Morfuni and Anthony Hall earlier in September, The Adver asked about when the new sign would be installed.
Hall said: "It will be ready in time for the Newport game. When we play Newport on the 14th [September] it will be ready.
"It is just one of those things, like a lot of things, where you strip something off and you find something else.
"It is frustrating but it will be done in time for the Newport game."
However, this was not the case as the shop still bore the branding from the Lotto days. Having been asked for comment by The Adver, Swindon have released a statement explaining what has happened and confirmed that more time will be needed to finish that, with the new date to finish being in time for the home match against Harrogate Town on October 5.
The statement said: "We can now inform supporters that the shop will be redesigned before our home game against Harrogate Town. Still, the delay has taken longer than expected due to the following key reasons:
"The front of the shop had structural damage due to years of signage being placed on top of previous signage, we were not aware of the extent of this damage until new Pro:Direct advertising arrived before our first home game of the season.
"We have needed to remove all previous branding of our previous sponsors, some of which have been imprinted into brickwork from constant exposure to the sun.
"Additional work on electrics and alarms was required before any signage could be taken down. This was not anticipated when first looking at the rebrand.
"The painting of the shop was delayed last week due to high winds and heavy rain.
"We apologise to our supporters for the current appearance of the shop. This will be rectified very shortly. We thank you for your continued support and understanding of the situation."
