Kabongo Tshimanga said that Swindon Town must correct the small details following their 2-0 home defeat to Carlisle United.

A pair of corners saw Swindon come unstuck at the Nigel Eady County Ground as first Sam Lavelle got in at the near post to head home before Luke Armstrong was able to turn home after a second-half scramble.

Tshimanga said that he felt Swindon had done a lot of things well during the match but had to fix the small details like their defending of set pieces.

He said: “I think that everyone is frustrated because I felt that that was a game that we dominated through our possession and getting into areas in the final third.

“I thought that we could have been a little bit more productive in terms of our end product, we got into a lot of good areas to make something happen and it just didn’t fall for us today.

“We got done by two set pieces that we should be concentrating on and making sure that we are switched on, but that is football.

“We know that at this level you are going to get a lot of that with set pieces, so it is important that we concentrate at those moments and make sure that we cut it out of our game.”

After Swindon ran riot against Newport County last week, they struggled more against a sturdy Carlisle defence.

Tshimanga added that he was disappointed that Swindon were unable to capitalise on the positions that they got into and said that they would be working hard to ensure that was fixed.

He said: “I think that we needed more end product and to get into better areas.

“We had a lot of crosses today and he had a lot of bodies in and around the box but we could have gotten into more advanced and better areas, in terms of the cutback zone, linking a bit more between the lines, trying to get into pockets, and just being a bit more intricate around the box.

“Try and do that stuff instead of just getting wide and putting a cross into the box.

“I think that there is plenty of work still to be done, there is plenty of improvement to come from the side.

“Now it is about getting on the training ground and making sure we improve these things and next week it is going to be a different outcome.”
