Milton Keynes Dons manager Scott Lindsey said he was never worried about his team not coming back as they beat Swindon Town 3-1.

Former Town boss Lindsey took charge against them for the fifth time since leaving the club for Crawley Town during the 22/23 campaign and came out on top as MK Dons came from behind to win.

Speaking after the game, Lindsey was very pleased with his team’s performance in the game and how they bounced back from disappointment in the FA Cup last week to be worthy winners against Town.

He said: “It was a bad start but I wasn’t worried because when you concede in the first minute, I wasn’t happy about it but I didn’t want to rant and rave and show negative energy on the sideline as it can spill out onto the pitch.

“I remained seated for a while and calm and we played so well in that first half, it is the best we have played since I have been here, I thought we were outstanding and deserved the goal before halftime.

“As soon as we debriefed the FA Cup game on Tuesday, there was a line drawn really quickly and we started focusing on how we won the last three league games – it is not a bad place to be at the moment.

“I really liked us in the first half and I can’t wait to watch it back, in the second half we came a little bit deep and became nervy, almost anxious to hold onto the result but we didn’t need to be, we could have rested with the ball more and played.

“I think this does look a bit more like my team, more aggressive and I thought we were really good with the ball today.”

Lindsey was asked whether it was the first time he had come up against the former Blackpool boss.

He said: “It is actually, yes, and I am hopefully going to enjoy half an hour with him before he gets on the coach and goes home.

“I think that he is an amazing character and obviously a very good manager, he has done nearly 1,000 games, you don’t do that and not know what you are doing.

“I really like watching his interviews, there are not enough characters like that and I am hopeful to enjoy half an hour with him in a minute.”
