SANDIE Webb has defiantly vowed her Chippenham Town side will go up as champions next season after another bout of play-off heartbreak hit Hardenhuish.
A last-minute screamer broke Bluebirds' hearts in the Southern Premier Division final for the second season running, Bedford winning 3-2 after a tense 90 minutes.
After watching her side fight back from 2-0 down only to be denied by a wonder goal' from on-loan Northampton defender Tom Bonner, Town chairman Webb pledged to avoid further play-off misery next time round.
Steve White's Chippenham crashed out in last year's final to Hednesford and Webb admits she could not bear to be put through it again.
She said: "With support like that and a second half display like that, it hurts to go out to a absolutely killer goal.
"Whoever scored the third goal was always going to win it.
"We have already got 10 players signed on for next season. When Darren Perrin took over we only had three signed on.
"Next year we have to be looking to win the league. Never mind the play-offs, we will win it straight off next year."
After stormy clashes at Bath City and Kings Lynn in recent weeks, the game passed by without incident off the park as 2029 packed into Hardenhuish.
Webb praised the actions of both sets of fans, while also having a little dig at their rivals.
She said: "It was a fantastic atmosphere. There was nothing thrown on the pitch, no aggro and it just proves football can be run correctly."
Dreams of the Conference South looked to have gone up in smoke after a disastrous opening half an hour saw the Bluebirds 2-0 down.
Bonner scored his first of the game on 10 minutes when he fired home from close range and on the half hour mark, Rene Howe doubled the visitors' lead.
It got worse for the hosts as goalkeeper Steve Perrin hobbled off to be replaced by teenager Chris Snoddy, but they were offered a ray of hope when Matt Childs was dubiously adjudged to have handled in the penalty area.
Ian Herring slotted home the spot-kick and on 47 minutes, substitute Alan Griffin volleyed home the equaliser.
From there Chippenham piled forward in search for the winner but Dave Gilroy was brilliantly denied twice by goalkeeper Ian Brown.
With seconds remaining, Bonner pounced on a loose ball to lash home the winner with his weak foot from 30 yards.
