TEENAGE striker Lukas Jutkiewicz has been offered the chance to join the senior ranks at the County Ground and four other young guns will make the step up next season.
The 17-year-old striker played a part in the final four matches of Town's campaign and Iffy Onuora feels the youngster is worthy of a professional contract, despite the fact that he still has another year to run on his scholarship.
Onuora said: "He has a year to go on his scholarship but you are allowed to sign a pro contract when you reach your 17th birthday.
"So it's something we're probably going to do sooner rather than later.
"I've had a chat with his mum and he has got representatives so we'll have a chat with them about maybe something for a year."
If a deal can be struck with Jutkiewicz and his representatives then the forward won't find himself making the step up alone.
Striker Ashan Holgate has been offered a one-year deal as has midfielder Ben Wells.
Defender Leigh Henry, who has suffered with injury during the latter part of the campaign, has been offered six months with a view to extending that by a further six months and the same deal has been put to midfielder David Stroud.
Striker Andy Caton will also be at the club for 12 months, although it remains to be seen whether he is allowed to repeat his final scholarship year, it having been ruined by a knee injury and then injuries sustained in a car accident, or is given a professional contract.
Onuora said: "Obviously, you want to see young ones coming through the system.
"They've all had a little taste at various times and you hope they can progress."
