PROLIFIC marksman Toby Colbourne has admitted he would be interested in rekindling a move to Hunts Copse, if Supermarine still want him, writes ANDY CRYER.
Colbourne turned down a move to Marine midway through the season but, having completed a cup double with Corsham Town, he admits it could be time for him to make the step-up.
Marine boss Mark Collier revealed Colbourne is a summer target and the two are expected to start negotiations in the near future.
Hitting 50 goals for the Peacocks in less than two seasons, Colbourne has helped Corsham to their most successful spell ever, including a second consecutive runners-up spot in the Toolstation Premier Division and Wiltshire Senior Cup and Les Phillips Cup triumphs.
Colbourne has already proved a hit at Southern League level, scoring three times in four appearances for Clevedon before returning to Wiltshire, and admits he would love the chance to prove this was no fluke.
Other clubs are thought are to be interested in the burly 25-year-old but having made contact already earlier in the season, Marine look to be in pole position to sign him.
Colbourne said: "I turned them down earlier in the season because I wanted to stay loyal to Corsham and help finish the job off.
"We have had a fantastic season and now perhaps it is the right time for me to move on. I am 25 and entering my prime and I have every confidence in my ability to play at the next level.
"I am expecting Mark to give me a call and am hoping he does. He said he would be back in for me in the summer and we will just have to take it from there.'' Collier, who is being linked with the vacant managerial post at Cirencester Town having led Marine to the Southern League play-offs, said: "Toby told us he wanted to see the season off with Corsham and you have to respect him for that. I would like to think he would be interested in coming now".
