RHYS Evans is more qualified than most to give an insight into Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet as he awaits managerial developments at the County Ground.
As it stands, Iffy Onuora remains the 24-year-old's gaffer' but should all the talk' become reality then it won't be a case of starting from scratch should Evans stay of course.
Evans was a promising youngster when he first stepped on to the Chelsea training field with Messrs Wise and Poyet.
The former would end sessions practising free-kicks alongside Gianfranco Zola with Evans doing his best to keep them out.
"Dennis was one of the few English players to survive the foreign influx at Stamford Bridge so I think that tells you a lot about the guy," said Evans.
And although small in stature, Wise certainly wasn't afraid to make his feelings clear to anyone who displeased him.
Evans said: "He was very demanding in terms of standards and if he felt a fellow international needed a telling off' then he wouldn't be afraid to administer one.
"He paid attention to the smallest detail, even to the extent of the state of his boots for example."
And should Poyet decide to follow Wise to the County Ground then it seems Town will welcome one of football's Mr Nice Guys on board.
Evans said: "He's a top man, Gus.
"A nicer fellow you couldn't wish to meet.
"A talented player and someone who would go the extra mile to help someone out."
Such speculation surrounding the club merely adds an extra ingredient to the decision pot for Evans.
He is mulling over a contract offer from League One outfit Blackpool and is also awaiting a revised offer from Town.
He said: "A lot seems to have happened round the place very quickly.
"There's obviously a lot to take in."
- Barnet have denied speculation that former Town striker Giuliano Grazioli will be allowed to leave Underhill on a free transfer.
