TOWN'S managerial situation needs to be resolved speedily with nothing to be gained from dragging out the issue.
Swindon Town Supporters Club spokesman Nigel Bennett also feels debate is largely irrelevant until matters are signed, sealed and delivered'.
Supporters spent the day talking about the possibility' of Dennis Wise filling the County Ground hot-seat rather than assessing a concrete development.
Bennett said: "I suppose we have to wait and see what comes out of all this.
"Perhaps it could be a catalyst for something positive, we'll have to see. I think you'd rather that things were sorted and in place to be honest but obviously things do get out into the public arena don't they?
"Whatever, the outcome I think supporters will just want to see things in place for next season as soon as possible and that things are not dragged out."
Swindon Town Supporters Trust chairman Tony Norris, pictured left, said the Dennis Wise/Gus Poyet had come as a surprise but if it did materialise into reality, then he would wish them well.
He said: "I feel for Iffy. He's a great bloke and came into a tremendously difficult situation.
"As for the Wise thing, he's certainly a passionate bloke and if he was to take over then you'd wish him well.
"As a manager at Millwall he took them to the FA Cup final and they haven't done so well since he left.
"You'd also hope he'd still have something to offer on the pitch as a midfielder.
"The player/manager option is something the club has tried before with a fair degree of success.
"As I said, it has come as a bit of a surprise but I haven't heard anyone really throwing their toys out of the pram about it as yet."
