FORMER European Footballer of the year Ruud Gullit believes Gus Poyet, has all the makings to be a successful number two.
Poyet, Dennis Wise's sidekick at the County Ground, is this week Gullit's assistant boss for a Rest of the World Team in ITV's Soccer Aid and the Dutch master likes what he has seen.
Soccer Aid, the brainchild of Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes, is a pro/celebrity fundraiser for UNICEF, which on Saturday will see England play the Rest of the World in front of 75,000 at Old Trafford.
Poyet, who was unveiled at the County Ground with Wise on Monday, is coaching a side including Maradona, Gianfranco Zola, Dunga, Peter Schmeichel and David Ginola, along with numerous non-footballing celebrities.
Poyet's former boss Gullit, said: "Gus has already shown he is a very good coach and is doing an exceptional job with the celebrities.
"He has been a big help to me already. He was a great player and is now showing he can be a great coach."
England's team is being managed by Terry Venables and includes Paul Gascoigne, David Seaman, John Barnes and Jamie Redknapp.
ITV will be serialising the event all week before Saturday's live showcase event at the Theatre of Dreams.
