FORMER Town boss Andy King, pictured, will not be stepping into the Grays Athletic hot-seat after speculation linking him with the post proved incorrect.
The Conference outfit have instead appointed former Farnborough Town manager Frank Gray on a two-year contract.
Grays said there had been some outstanding' applicants but in the end they decided to plump for the former Leeds United and Nottingham Forest midfielder.
Gray, who was also part of Scotland's 1982 World Cup squad, will be bringing in Gerry Murphy as his number two.
As for King, he is looking for a return to football, having told the Advertiser that he is applying for jobs'.
The 49-year-old is free to seek new employment having now been paid the money owed to him by Town under the terms of the contract terminated in September last year.
