MARK Devlin believes Dennis Wise's impending football audit' at the County Ground can only benefit the club's long term prospects.
On his return from holiday, Town's manager will conduct something of a stock take, examining the good, the bad and the ugly.
The club's chief executive says such an approach is to be welcomed not feared and there is no room for resistance to change.
Devlin won't be tolerating anyone muttering we don't do things that way'.
He said: "Dennis wants to be able to run the footballing side of the club and we are happy for him to do that.
"We were prepared, indeed we wanted a manager that desired to take an active interest in all aspects of the footballing side of the club.
"Dennis has come from a totally different background and brings with him some things that he thinks will be of benefit to the club.
"He wants to have a say in the youth side, have an overview of the centre of excellence and looking at who's coming through, the systems we play, our scouting system and the way we coach.
"I think that's absolutely right.
"A lot of managers, because of the nature of football, concentrate on their first team because they believe they get hired and fired based on the results of their first team.
"This is not a short term fix as we've already said. That's why there is a three-year contract.
"We are looking to the longer term as well and to put in place things which will serve us well for the future."
And the fact that Wise and Poyet's only previous connection with the County Ground is the odd 90 minutes here and there is a plus in Devlin's eyes.
He said: "I have been here and worked with two guys (managers) who've had a Swindon background.
"Now we have someone who doesn't have any baggage with Swindon, he's come in completely fresh and with no limitations.
"He doesn't think I'd like to do that but we don't do that at Swindon.' He's now thinking I'd like to do that. Can we do it?' "It's up to myself and the board to see whether we can or can't.
"Some things we will, some we won't but it's good to be asked and pushed on it.
"Dennis doesn't want to waste the club's money and he doesn't want to spend money we haven't got but he will make suggestions.
"You can't bring in Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet and expect them not to."
