FORMER Town boss Iffy Onuora has challenged the players he leaves behind to show their new boss why he should have faith in them.
He accepts that Dennis Wise will want to do things his way' and has no problem with that.
That means everyone starts with a clean slate and some faces may fit, some may not.
Players who recently signed contracts may not necessarily be flavour of the month and for those still weighing up their respective futures, it is an equally uncertain time.
But whatever Wise decides to do, Onuora hopes the players he has helped bring on will do their utmost to keep in the picture.
Onuora said: "I felt we needed three or four players to take us forward next season.
"Dennis and Gus might think differently.
"But there are some good players I've left behind there, players who have developed and have the potential to progress.
"I believe strides have been made. Ricky Shakes was on the fringe of things when I took over and ended the season on the fringes of Trinidad's World Cup squad.
"Charlie Comyn-Platt has emerged as a midfielder and there are good kids coming through the system.
"I hope they will get their chance."
Onuora revealed that several players have been in contact since his dismissal.
He said: "That means a lot but now they have to impress someone new and I hope they do."
