DORCAN Old boys were celebrating on Sunday after winning the DIG six-a-side tournament at Wootton Bassett Rugby Club.
The victors needed two penalty shoot-outs to clinch the trophy, beating Evolution in a tensely fought final.
After neither side managed to find the net in normal time, the penalty shoot-out went full circle before Evolution missed to secure a 6-5 win for the Old Boys.
Dorcan also needed the lottery of penalties to get through a tough semi-final against football first.
Evolution knocked out Fledger Old Flames in the other semi-final, also winning on penalties.
It was the second annual DIG six-a-side tournament with £2000 being raised and shared between Prospect Hospice and Marie Curie.
Another £300 was given to youngster Jamie Jenkins, who has autism, and organiser Derek Leppard was delighted with the response.
He said: "It was a really succesful day and to raise these funds for such worthwhile causes is fantastic.
"Myself and my wife Brenda were overwhelmed by the success and I think the players really appreciated it as well.
"The players normally think of me as just the DIG organiser and it was nice to show I am human and a top lad really.
"The weather held off and everyone enjoyed themselves. Hopefully we can do it again next year."
Leppard saved special thanks for the tournament sponsor Speedy Hire.
