TOWN midfielder Jonathan Douglas has picked up yet another award for his impressive displays this season.
Having already claimed the Swindon Advertiser’s and TrustSTFC’s Player of the Year awards, Douglas completed his hat-trick as he was crowned the Swindon Town Supporters’ Club Player of the Year.
The Supporters’ Club held their annual end-of-season dinner at the County Ground on Tuesday night, which was attended by chief executive Nick Watkins, first team manager Danny Wilson and eight players.
David Lucas was third in the running for the main award, with Jon-Paul McGovern runner-up behind Irish international Douglas, who was presented with his award by Supporters’ Club chairman Roger Bunce.
And McGovern went on to receive the Swindon Away Supporters’ (SAS) Player of the Year, presented by Sandra Pinager.
The final presentation we made to the club’s youth administrator Karen Ainscow, as she received a cheque for £8,000 to finance the Centre of Excellence’s trip to compete in the Milk Cup in Ireland this summer.
- MARC Hussey, of Brigg, Lincolnshire, has been picked out as the winner of the a season ticket for the 2010/11 campaign through the Advertiser’s Player of the Year voting.
He voted for winner Jonathan Douglas and was selected at random on Tuesday morning. Marc requested a season ticket in the Town End and has also won a signed Jonathan Douglas t-shirt donated by the club.
