CHARLTON manager Phil Parkinson believes a hostile greeting could be Swindon’s undoing as they take on his Addicks side in the League One Play-off semi-final second leg at The Valley tonight.

Parkinson, who watched from the sidelines on Friday night as goals from Charlie Austin and Danny Ward gave Town a 2-1 lead going into the return tie, is adamant the atmosphere created by the south east London outfit’s army of fans could pay dividends on the pitch.

“The Valley is going to be packed and sometimes when you’re the away team it is difficult to play in that environment,” Parkinson said.

“The tables will turn on Monday, and we are looking forward to it.”

Parkinson was not disheartened by defeat at the County Ground three days ago.

Instead the former Colchester boss insisted that, although he thinks his team go into this evening as underdogs, the contest still hangs delicately in the balance.

“I don’t think you’re ever happy to lose a game, but we’ve still got it all to play for,” he said.

“I’d say Swindon are favourites as they’ve got the goal advantage, but it’s a game we’re relishing.

“It’s going to be a full house and we are looking forward to it.”
