DANNY Wilson is relishing the thought of 30,000 Town fans cheering their side on at Wembley on Saturday.

The club have already sold around 28,000 tickets for the League One play-off final against Millwall, and Wilson admitted he was pleased with that figure.

“I’m very proud,” he said.

“We have seen the crowds grow over the period of the season anyway, and that is always a sign that the fans have got a bit of belief in you and that you are entertaining them.

“That is important, and I always felt that if we could get to the final then we would take a good support with us.

“I think there’s a lot more still to come yet and it’s absolutely fantastic.

“It will be a great atmosphere there, and if we can make an atmosphere like we have at many away games with 2,000, then imagine what it’s going to be like with 30,000. I’m really looking forward to it.”

The boss also explained it has been a hectic period for Swindon’s off-the-pitch team, as they try to ensure everything is perfect for the big day.

“We’ve been trying to sort tickets out, trying to organise travel, trying to sort hotels and all sorts of stuff that the players will just expect to happen on the day,” revealed the County Ground chief.

“We’ve been trying to put them in place and behind the scenes it has been absolutely manic.

“Nick (Watkins, chief executive) and his team have really been pushed up against it over the last few days because it turns around so quickly from the semi-final to the final.”
